“Just the right madness to make her interesting.” – Atticus
For the summer capsule collection, we collaborated with the singer from the electronic music duo Kimokal, also known as Kallula and The F Thing. Kallula is known for her urban sense of style on stage and her everyday look is a delight to be working with. Her upbeat and quirky taste in fashion is a challenge and an inspiration to the collection.
The two motifs that stand out from the collection are called Handbrush and Seafoam. While Handbrush is pretty self-explanatory, ‘Seafoam’ was created using airbrush. All handmade, the motifs differ from one piece to the other. These two motifs are the marriage of Kallula’s black and white identity with IMAJI Studio’s colorful abstract approach.
We took basic silhouettes with playful motifs on grey, indigo blue, and "lurik" fabric from Central Java to suit her style. The collection, to be worn at Coachella 2018 is a twist on traditional fabric and contemporary design. Pieces that are comfortable and reflected on Kallula's everyday sense of style.
The campaign itself is a collaborative photo project with Bali based photographer Indra Kantawibawa from Iluminen. Shot in Bali, it exudes a laidback feel of the collection’s soul. To be worn at leisure and close to nature.
These collaborative pieces are exclusively sold at www.thefthing.com
